Welcome to Hoover High School and our school website which I hope will give you an exciting snapshot of the superb programs that Hoover High School has to offer you and your family.

I enjoy referring to Hoover High School as a “4-A School.”  By a “4-A School” I am referring to our outstanding and demonstrated high quality Academic offerings; the wonderful Arts programs-both performing and visual; our highly competitive Athletic teams; and an exciting student Activities program that engages and includes all of our student population. Hoover maintains and sustains a culture of high expectations and caring for students and is composed of a dedicated group of hard-working, committed, and able teachers. 

Our parent groups are diverse and provide countless hours of volunteer time to enhance the environment of our students. Hoover HS is one of 35 schools in California to earn the PTA National School of Excellence Seal based on the ongoing high levels and parent support. We are fortunate to possess these qualities within our outstanding PTSA organization.

Our students are motivated, involved, curious, diverse, appreciative, reflective, fun, enthusiastic, and they expect and receive high quality teaching and learning.

Nationally known public education author and researcher, Richard Dufour, recently opined that “by concentrating on learning, today’s school leaders, rather shift both their own focus and that of the community from input to outcome, and from intentions to results.”  And the recent results are in:
Hoover High School just completed its accreditation process from the Western Association of School and Colleges (WASC) and I am privileged and pleased to announce that Hoover High School has been given a six-year clear term of accreditation from WASC.  This stellar term places Hoover HS in a unique category of ongoing excellence and continuous improvement.

One of the areas I am most proud of as Principal is how my staff is collaboratively involved and keeps our energy and time focus on teaching and learning. Our professional and staff development is enthusiastically and collaboratively invigorated by the work of the Hoover ILT – the Instructional Leadership Team. Hoover has selected “Writing to Learn” as the instructional focus of the site and it will be the lens through which we view and shape the instructional work we do.
