Community Service
Hoover High School values community service. There are two possible recognitions for students who participate in community service.
1. The President's Volunteer Service Award
To earn the President's Volunteer Service Award students must complete a minimum of 50 hours of community service. A log to track hours can be picked up in the counseling office. We need to have documentation (signature and phone number) for all hours logged. Students who qualify for this award receive a lapel pin, a letter from the White House, and a certificate. Students can choose to wear the pin at graduation. Pins are awarded based on how many hours you complete.
50-74 hours earns a Bronze pin
75-99 hours earns a Silver pin
100 and more earns a Gold pin
Students can apply every year. In May 2013 we will be awarding for hours earned May 2012 - May 2013. The Application will be due Thursday May 2, 2013.
